Maple Wood

Posted by on

Fall has officially arrived! Don’t miss out on the beautiful colours Maple has to offer. World wide, there are 150 species of Maple. It is Canada’s official arboreal emblem. Maple is vibrant, a wonderful food source for wild-life, and in Canada there is approximately 10 native species of Maple: sugar, black, silver, big leaf, red, mountain, striped, Douglas, vine, and Manitoba.

Maple is a popular material for furniture, flooring, plywood, firewood and woodworking. It is highly recognized for its premium strength and durability. It contains a clean appearance, is a hard wood species, and it easily absorbs colour (stain or paint). A great reason to use Maple is its resistant to moisture and it can withstand unexpected events throughout the years.

There is some Maple categorized as soft wood; which is considered more appealing from an aesthetic aspect. Soft Maple can be used for doors, musical instruments, and furniture.

Lush Woodcraft is able to custom your Maple project. Cannot wait to hear from you!
